Interesting pair of real photo postcards shot at League Park in Cleveland, presumably during 1913. After careful research taking into account the handwritten notations on verso of these cards, it's our opinion the images were captured on the following dates: 1) Top Card - 05/13/1913: Yankees outfielder Harry Wolter attempts to avoid the tag by Cleveland's second-year shortstop, Ray Chapman. Shoeless Joe Jackson patrolled right field for the duration of this game and it stands to reason Jackson himself is depicted to the right of the umpire on this card. Card suffers from a large area where the image has been lost along the right edge and bottom-right corner, with a similar smaller area in the lower-left corner. This is likely due to an unfortunate darkroom error in the development process when this card was created. 2) Bottom Card - 05/28/1913: Image depicts Chicago White Sox third baseman, Harry Lord sliding into second base somewhat precariously while Cleveland infielders Ray Chapman and Terry Turner look on. Once again, Shoeless Joe Jackson was the right fielder for the duration of this game which suggests Jackson himself is pictured in the outfield. Corners of this card do exhibit signs of wear, though the central image remains unaffected.
