The 1908 World Series was a rematch of the previous year, pitting the defending champion Chicago Cubs against the Detroit Tigers.  One of the game's legendary early seasons, the Cubs famously made the Series based on a one-game playoff with the New York Giants resulting from the infamous "Merkle Boner" play.  Chicago would go on to defeat Detroit in just five games.

Presented here is an outstanding, rare stub from Game 3 of the Series, at Wrigley Field.  Held on October 11, it was the first of just two games held at the West Side Grounds in Chicago.  The Cubs won the game, 6-1, behind a complete game performance by Orval Overall.  The game was a pitcher's duel until the bottom of the 8th, when Joe Tinker's two-run home run kicked off a six-run inning for the Cubs.

The stub - one of just three assessed by PSA for this game - has been graded VG 3 by PSA, with some light wear at the corners and edges and some mild surface smudging the primary condition issues.  Early World Series ticket stubs are in extremely high demand, and this example is one of the earliest we have handled.
