Upon his retirement as an umpire after then 1927 season, Hall of Famer Billy Evans became the General Manager of the Cleveland Indians, the first executive in baseball to carry that title.  He remained in that role until 1940, leaving after the Indians sold Pee Wee Reese to the Dodgers against his wishes.  In 1946, Evans became GM of the Detroit Tigers, where he remained until 1951.  In that capacity, he signed this Player Assignment Agreement for Harvey "Hank" Riebe, being assigned from Detroit at the end of his career to the AAA Toledo Mud Hens of the American Association, where his baseball career would end.  Evans signed the agreement in the bottom left in crisp, blue ink.  His signature has been stamped over by the notary stamp of the Commissioner of baseball.  LOA from James Spence Authentication.
