Issued during the summer of 1909 in copies of the Boston Sunday Post, the 9" x 14" supplements featured 13 individual members of the Red Sox, each issued in a sheet of two, with the exception of Amby McConnell, who was issued in one singular supplement.  Each was printed on brittle newsprint, titled "Red Sox Stars" and featuring an action image of the player, with an inset portrait photo.  Presented here is a grouping of eight of the 13 subjects, including George Stahl/Bill Carrigan, Ed Cicotte/Harry Niles, Edward Spencer/Charlie Chech, and Harry Lord/Tris Speaker (HOF).  The supplements exhibit wear consistent with the delicate and brittle newsprint, mostly in the form of tiny edge tears and chips, along with light wrinkling.  The Speaker supplement toes exhibit s lower-right corner clip that is particularly large, with some additional wear along the right edge.  The Cicotte/Niles piece appears slightly smaller in the scan, however it is important to note that the size disparity is the result of photoshop "stitching" together of multiple scans to create a larger image, and not the result of a trim.  Four two-player supplements total.
