A classic Charles Conlon image of slugger Tim Jordan batting at the Polo Grounds towards the tail end of his career, most of which was spent with Brooklyn from 1906-1910. Incredibly, by today's standards anyway, Jordan's 12 home runs in both 1906 and 1908 were good enough to lead the National League league both times, while tying him for the major league lead in 1906 with the AL's Harry Davis. Approx. 8" x 10" photo suffers from heavy chipping to the upper corners, with lighter chipping to the lower corners, though the central image remains beautifully intact. Verso includes TWO different stamps attributed to Charles Conlon, along with Conlon's handwritten ID of Jordan. One of the Conlon stamps has been partially obscured with what appears to be grease pencil and there are a few modern notations and two modern white stickers present. This photo is fresh to the hobby and originates from the archives of Photo File, Inc. where it has been stored for several decades until this offering. Guaranteed Type 1.
