Wonderful c.1890's horizontal cabinet photograph depicting what appears to be an amateur ballgame breaking out at a makeshift ballpark. It's unclear why the players are positioned as they are but it's a fascinating image chock full of period details like the rudimentary gloves, pillbox caps, and the presence of what appear to be local folks milling about in their Sunday best. Mount measures 5 1/4" x 8 1/2" while the photo itself measures 4.5" x 7 3/4". Both the photo and mount exhibit scattered wear and soiling while verso of mount contains a handwritten inscription that reads "David Connors, Rice Lake, WI."
