The most important card from the 1968 Topps issue, and perhaps the most important rookie card of the 1960s, this example of the Ryan/Koosman card has been graded VG-EX 4 with man MC qualifier to address the extreme centering issue. The career of Nolan Ryan is obviously well-documented, but his partner on the card, Jerry Koosman, pitched for 19 seasons including 12 with the Mets, was a two-time 20-game winner (and one-time 20 game loser), finishing an outstanding career with a 222-209 lifetime record, spending most of his career with terrible Mets teams (though he was a member of the 1969 championship squad), and a lifetime ERA of 3.36. Last season, Koosman became just the third Mets player to have his jersey number retired (alongside Tom Seaver and Mike Piazza).
