Incredible collection of china and porcelain glassware related to the 1958 Baltimore Colts' World Championship team.  Originating from the collection of longtime Baltimore broadcaster Ted Patterson, this is a highly desirable set, one of the largest and most comprehensive we have seen at auction.  Collection includes a full place setting for four people, plus extras.  Includes 1) China plates (5): Five full-sized plates featuring a Colts logo and World Championship score in the center, surrounded by blue facsimile autographs of the various team members, which is the design motif of the entire set.  The fifth plate is attached to a wall hanger, which we elected not to remove as it is tightly attached.  The plates appear to be in excellent condition, with some mild craquelure visible within the finish of each plate.  2) Cup and Saucer (4): Four teacups and saucers, each carrying the same design elements of facsimile autograph with game score and team logo, each in very strong condition with little signs of wear.  3) Creamer and Sugar Bowl:  Beautiful sugar bowl and creamer, showing very little wear, carefully preserved.  4) Ashtrays (2): Ceramic ashtray pair, one of which is ringed in gold with the words "World Champions" underneath the team logo, one of which is not.  The one without the logo appears in FAIR condition with some staining, some sort of sticky adhesive on the bottom, along with minor wear and light chipping.  5) Serving Tray: Tough to find serving tray featuring a ceramic tile in the center of a wooden tray.  A couple of wide cracks to the wood are visible, but overall a very attractive piece.  All of the plates and saucers, as well as the sugar bowl and creamer, are marked with the Balfour stamp at the bottom, and all exhibit some degree of craquelure.  These are extraordinarily desirable pieces, highly prized among collectors, and seldom seen in quantities this large.  14 pieces total.
