Though the 1961 Nu-Card football issue lacks the "big name" talent of the Topps and Fleer issues of the era, it does contain the rookie cards of Heisman winner Ernie Davis, John Hall and Roman Gabriel, and contains cards of approximately 30 players that went on to play in the NFL. Each colorful card contains a cartoon image related to the player's position, a pennant emblazoned with the player's school and a black and white inset photo of the player, all set against a crisp, white background. The card reverse contains personal stats as well as highlights of the player's college career. This collection includes 57 cards from the 80-card set, including a few duplicates, with technical grades of approximately 2% EX/MT, 19% EX, 33% VG/EX, 36% VG, 7% GOOD, and 2% FAIR or lesser. Includes cards #101, 104, 105, 107, 108, 110, 112, 113, 114, 115, 117 (2), 120, 121, 123, 124, 125, 126, 127, 129, 130, 131, 132, 133, 135, 136, 137, 140, 141, 143, 145, 146, 147, 148, 149, 151, 152, 153, 156, 157, 158, 160, 162, 163, 164, 165, 166, 167, 170, 171, 172, 173, 175, 176, 177, and 180. Although our printed catalog mentions the issue includes "dupes," it is only the card #117 of John Hadl that is duplicated. 57 cards total.
