In their final season before joining the NFL, the 1928 Staten Island Stapletons faced off against the NFL's Frankford Yellow Jackets, the assets of which eventually became the Philadelphia Eagles. A tight game, the Stapletons would lose by just one point, 14-13. Early program is in poor condition with a significant fold that, while flattened, has left a heavy crease, and small tears on the roster page. Despite the wear, the program is intact, an excellent early program featuring two important teams in the development of the early NFL.
