Lot Description  

Beautiful 9" x 7" team photo picturing the 1938 New York Yankees in their road grays, posed in front of an empty grandstand.  The photo is noteworthy due to continuing both a young Joe DiMaggio and Lou Gehrig in his final full season, with fellow Hall of Famers Red Ruffing, Lefty Gomez, Bill Dickey and Joe McCarthy.  The Yankees finished atop the American League that season, sweeping the Cubs in the World Series.  The photo is in outstanding condition, encapsulated and authenticated as Type 1 by PSA/DNA.
