As the football program at Notre Dame began to gain notoriety, head coach Knute Rockne persuaded the university to construct a new stadium.  Notre Dame Stadium opened for the SMU game on October 4, 1930, but the official dedication of the stadium occurred on October 11, in conjunction with their game against Navy.  One of the early highlights of the long-running rivalry, this particular game was a Notre Dame win and not at all close, as Navy was defeated, 26-2.  Offered here is the program from that dedication day, the cover art picturing a smiling Rockne looking down at the stadium.  Though the cover exhibits some wear at the edges and spine, with some significant surface soiling and light but visible staining in a cross-hatch pattern, the interior pages have been reasonably well-protected, with some light wear and wrinkling, along with the aforementioned edge wear.
