Important card from a curious issue distributed in 1910 on candy boxes manufactured by the Geo. Davis Co and the P.R. Warren Co.  The box indicated that the card set featured 144 subjects, but just a few have been discovered as of today.  The cards are called "orange borders" by collectors today, because the player images were surrounded by orange borders.  However, the "borders" were simply a part of the box, so there is no true border definition.  Presented here is the team photo card featuring the 1909 American League champion Detroit Tigers, including Ty Cobb.  Of the eight examples of this card to have been graded by PSA, this is the highest, and one of only two specimens to have received a numerical grade due to the propensity for young people to miscut the cards.  The MK referred to in the PSA  qualifier may relate to what appears to be a small pencil mark on the reverse, or it could pertain to a light mark of some kind within the orange border along the right edge of the card which appears to be a print issue.  A light wrinkle along the upper-right edge keeps the card from attaining a higher numerical grade.  Still, one of the finest examples known of a scarce card.
