Measuring approximately 8" in height, attractive porcelain or glazed ceramic bank.  Often attributed to the 1940s, Moyer banks depicted a caricature of a football player, typically painted in the colors of different college teams.  The statues are identified by the word "MOYER" etched into the base at the reverse.  This example is painted to resemble a Navy football player, consigned from the collection of Ted Patterson, who was an announcer for Navy football games for 13 years.  Condition appears strong, with some wear to the elbows and other vulnerable areas of the piece.
