The 1946 Montreal Royals were one of the most important minor league ball clubs in history for one reason alone: it was the team with which Jackie Robinson began his journey to breaking baseball's long-held color barrier.  Robinson would play 124 games with the Royals, batting .349 with 40 stolen bases and 113 runs scored, along with an on-base percentage of .468.  Robinson joined John Wright and Roy Partlow as the team's three African-American players and faced resistance even from his own manager.  Robinson was welcomed by the people of Montreal, however, and never lost his love for the people of that city.

This official program and scorecard is in VG condition, and has been signed by Robinson in pencil on the Royals scorecard page.  The signature is in beautiful shape, having been preserved inside the publication for all these years.  The scorecard itself has historical significance, of course, but the signature of the great Robinson takes the piece to another level.  A beautiful document of the dawn of one of the most important events, not just in the history of the game, but in the history of America.  Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
