An iconic high-grade Kashin of "The Iron Horse," this photograph, taken by legendary baseball photographer Charles Conlon, was used for the illustration on Gehrig's 1933 Goudey cards.  Among the most popular players ever to walk on a baseball field, Gehrig is well-regarded for his character, his 2,130 consecutive game streak, his powerful bat, his class, the tragic disease that bears his name and his legendary July 4 "Luckiest Man" speech.  Today, he is one of the best-loved figures not only in baseball history, but in American history.  Well-centered specimen, with light corner touches holding the card out of a higher technical grade, but with outstanding visual appeal.
