At first glance, this T206 Frank Chance card reveals nothing noticeable.  However, a close inspection reveals something quite interesting: the image on this card featuring a portrait of Hall of Famer Chance with "Cubs" printed across his chest is typically set against a rich, red background.  The Chance "Yellow Portrait" card features Chance with "Chicago" printed down his uniform shirt.  We have, in the past, seen the occasional anomaly like this with the Chance card - where the card should have a deep red background, but instead has a much more faint orange one.  However, the variation is not a recognized variation.  As this is now the third example of this variation that we have handled - and the highest-graded of the three - perhaps it should be.  SGC has assessed the card as EX 5, due almost exclusively to small corner dings.  We submitted this card ourselves, from a small collection of previously-ungraded cards. This fresh-to-the-hobby card presents extremely well, however, an extremely interesting "Red Background" Frank Chance with a bright orange background.
